The challenges they faced

Mitchell & Cooper required a seamless connection between Microsoft Business Central and Magento to ensure smooth data synchronisation. The integration needed to handle customer, stock, product, order, discount and company data as well as sales prices.


All data needed to feed back into Business Central, so ensuring safe and reliable transfers was crucial. We needed to do all of this, whilst also making sure any transfers didn’t slow down site speed and usability.

The solution Aware delivered

We created a bespoke module to facilitate the synchronisation of data using OData endpoints within Microsoft Business Central. Given that some of Mitchell & Cooper’s endpoints were customised, the team worked closely with their Business Central Agency to refine the implementation.


By leveraging Magento’s consumer-based messaging system, all updates were queued and scheduled in the background - keeping the site running smoothly. We also used timestamp update values from Business Central to perform Delta updates - allowing us to change only records with different values from Business Central. The system was further enhanced by adding an admin configuration panel to allow individual sync types to be improved or disabled.

The technology behind the solution

Mitchell & Cooper’s platform is powered by Adobe Commerce, utilising Magento’s enterprise-level B2B functionality. We also employed Saintsystems’ OData module to call and parse Business Central endpoints, while Insomnia was used for testing that data.


The website was modernised with a fresh design and a fully customised front-end built with Hyvä themes, ensuring high performance and a good user experience.
