After persevering with an outdated Magento 1 site that provided a poor user experience, the company entrusted Aware to develop a completely new eCommerce site to better showcase their complex product range and successfully manage the migration of all data to Magento 2.

Built from the ground up with speed in mind, we crafted a brand-new Magento 2 site that makes it easier-than-ever for customers to find and shop for the products they’re looking for.
Comprehensively overhauling the User Experience
Hoist and Winch came to us with an old website built on Magento 1, which we migrated to Magento 2.
As well as having an outdated design, the site had a number of UX issue that were affecting conversions and preventing it from ranking well in the search engines. What’s more, it was difficult for the client to update and manage the site’s content on a day-to-day basis.
With Magento 1 reaching end-of-life in June 2020, the company recognised it was the perfect opportunity to refresh their website and upgrade to a more modern eCommerce platform that would offer long-term security and stability.
After identifying Magento 2 as the best solution for their business, our task was to redesign the site to offer a better user experience across all devices and oversee the full migration of data over to Magento 2.

The old website had a confusing layout that was difficult to navigate and bombarded the user with too much information. To make matters worse, it was slow to load and wasn’t mobile-friendly, meaning it provided a very poor experience on smartphones and tablets.
After working closely with the company to understand the customer journey, we set about designing a brand-new website that would make it a breeze for customers to locate information about the company’s products, while providing a fast and intuitive shopping experience and maximising conversions.

A key challenge of this project was the extensive range and complexity of items. Many of the company’s products are bespoke pieces that are manufactured to the customer’s chosen specification, with numerous options and add-ons available along the way.
The new site allows customers to build their ideal product by selecting from a range of available options and add-ons such as size and capacity. Customers can easily select custom options, with real-time pricing updates. Simply select the options you desire, view the final price, and add the item to your basket.
