When furniture retailer Margaret Larson became worried about the increasing use of unsustainable flat packed furniture, she decided to do something about it. Drawing on her vast industry experience, she founded Sustainable Furniture back in 2007, a family-run business exclusively selling eco-friendly products made to last. Great care is taken throughout the supply chain to ensure every single aspect of the business is conducted in the most ethical and sustainable way possible.
Sustainable Furniture has won many awards over the years – but the brand’s online presence simply didn’t match its position as one of the UK’s premier green retailers, with a dated appearance and many usability issues. It was also slow to load and failed to cover even some of the basics like being completely mobile-friendly.
Our task was to create a new online store that’s right up to date, delivering a transformed shopping experience with refreshed visuals, better UX and UI, and a clean codebase.
We rebuilt the site to deliver a much better User Experience, working with the businesso over the long-term to provide ongoing support.
Sustainable Furniture came to us with an outdated website using a very old Magento theme with legacy code. It was slow to load and had a number of user interface issues, all adding up to a poor overall user experience, especially on mobile.
After working closely with the client to understand their business, goals and objectives, our team set to work on completely overhauling the store with a new design and build that creates a pleasurable shopping experience on every device.
Running on Hyvä, the leading frontend for Magento, the new site significantly upgrades the shopping experience – making it simple to browse Sustainable Furniture’s beautiful range of high-quality products and find the perfect piece for any home.
As well as offering an experience as beautiful as the furniture itself, the new store has been designed to be easy to manage on a day-to-day basis, including an integration with Brightpearl, a powerful retail operating system providing everything from order fulfilment and inventory management to shipping, accounting and sales forecasting.
Powering the site is Magento 2.4.5 with Hyvä, the leading Magento front-end for speed and flexibility. The result is a compelling and lightning fast online store that provides a first-rate experience for both customers and staff.
