In short: No, Fiverr SEO does not work. Buying cheap gigs from Fiverr will damage your website’s rankings more than helping. The gigs telling you they’ll rank your website guaranteed are lying and should be banned.
The SEO gigs on Fiverr are rubbish and no, I’m not exaggerating. I’ve purchased lots of different SEO gigs from Fiverr and have been burned every time.
When you look at the price for hiring an SEO agency and doing the SEO yourself VS buying SEO on Fiverr, Fiverr suddenly looks enchanting. You think, “OMG, I can save so much money buying Fiverr gigs”.
Please… if you want your website to rank, then avoid Fiverr like the plague. I’ve had websites buried and destroyed because I purchased backlinks on Fiverr.
Why is buying backlinks from Fiverr bad?
Often, link builders on Fiverr are using tools to automatically create backlinks. They’ll create backlinks from random websites that have no relevance to your site.
Even if they create manual backlinks, it’s from social bookmarking sites, forums, comment links and social profile sites. These types of links will not push your rankings forward.
The next type of backlink are guest posting backlinks, these are the backlinks that will push your rankings forward. However, if you’re guest posting on a website advertised on Fiverr, chances are others are guest posting on that site too.
These websites are link farms and you don’t want your link on these sites.
But these Fiverr gigs have 5 stars
Even if Fiverr gigs have 5 star reviews, if you read the reviews, it’s often people saying how they’re waiting to see results and can’t wait. It’s people trusting the links are going to work.
Some have said it’s pushed their rankings up after 3 months. However, there are so many variables to SEO, so we don’t actually know if it were the links that pushed their rankings up slightly.
Sellers can fake reviews as well. You can easily find gigs selling fake reviews. It’s not a place you can trust. Anyone can sign up and get started, which is both a pro and a con.
I know it looks tempting with the clean graphics, all the 5 star reviews and low prices. But if you actually do the work or spend money with a qualified SEO agency, you’ll get those results.
You don’t want to spend money on gigs and a few months later ask what happened. If you’re new to SEO, save your money and avoid Fiverr.

I’m not going to say Fiverr is bad and then leave you with no other option. There are 3 alternatives:
- Hire an agency
- Hire a freelancer
- Do the SEO yourself
If you want to hire an agency or freelancer, make sure to do your due diligence. Look them up, check out their reviews, case studies and most importantly, study SEO yourself. They could be selling you on anything but if you’ve got a better understanding of SEO, you’ll have a better understanding of what’s going on.
You can do the SEO yourself, if you don’t have a lot of money, do the SEO yourself for your site.
